This was a keynote talk and published paper about the future of the past in the post-industrial west. As part of a conference addressing the features of the past in the landscapes of post-industrial Sweden, I took up the theme of the importance of the material past, of archaeological memory practices in contemporary culture. Included are several tactics at the core of the archaeological imagination.
